LifeStorage Centers, LLC is a privately held operator of self storage facilities headquartered in Barrington, Illinois focusing on all areas of professional self storage management.

The company developed its first storage facility in 2002 and has developed and built over 17 self storage facilities. We currently own and manage 17 locations operating throughout Chicagoland.

We are seeking individuals that have experience and training from companies that value customer relationships such as Nordstrom, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Lexus, Apple or Estee Lauder! If you are used to working for the LEADER in the following industries, we would like to speak with you:

We are in search of full-time, Professional Store Managers who will take the lead in the following areas:

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Achieve Sales Objectives & Build Revenue...
1. Maximize conversion of telephone & walk-in inquiries to rented units.
2. Promote LifeStorage Centers in the community.
3. Research competitor information and prepare competition reports in order to recommend and implement effective marketing strategies.

Maintain & Achieve Financial Goals...
1. Accurately manage cash and balance receipts.
2. Pursue collections, post payments and process daily bank deposits in an accurate and timely fashion.
3. Operate within site budgets.
4. Follow up on delinquent accounts.
5. Coordinate invoice payments with Area Manager & Corporate Accounting.

Effective Sales & Marketing Objectives...
1. Answer phones in a friendly, pleasant and professional manner and successfully follow phone sales techniques to bring the customers in and CLOSE THE DEAL. All calls are recorded and may be mystery shopped from time to time.
2. Greet customers promptly, with enthusiasm and professionalism.
3. Successfully demonstrate the features and benefits of our storage facility to the customer to advise, direct and "SELL" the customer to the correct size storage unit.
4. Professionally perform B to B "cold calls" in person and over the phone.
5. Work to MEET AND EXCEED SALES & MARKETING GOALS.
6. Coordinate and host various special events on site and within the store's community.

Administrative Processes...
1. Maintain accurate records for each customer including leases, insurance, change of address forms, addendums and any other correspondence to or from customers.
2. Utilize various software programs within an MS Office environment and SiteLink, a self storage application.
3. Maintain accurate inventory for retail merchandise, office and repair supplies and utilizing good management practice purchase more as needed.
4. Initiate all required notices and procedures for tenant foreclosures and auction of property according to state auction lien laws and LifeStorage's Policies and Procedures. Maintain accurate records of all auctions.
5. Compile required and assigned reports and projects as assigned timely and accurately.
6. Consult the LifeStorage Policy & Procedures manual on a regular basis for answers, clarifications and consistency.

• Performs minor maintenance and custodial duties throughout the site as needed. Direct maintenance workers on required major maintenance issues.
• Monitor surveillance system and perform daily walk-thru of facility to check locks, vacant units to ensure a clean and safe facility.
• Keeps company grounds, units and facility free from debris at all times in order to meet company standards of appearance and cleanliness.
• Assist customers with truck rentals at some locations.
• Attend and participate in monthly trainings and meetings for continued employment and professional development as required by LifeStorage.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Must operate effectively on a team and with minimal direct supervision.

The requirements listed below are a representation of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. LifeStorage seeks employees who have an entrepreneurial, pro-active and "can-do" positive attitude, who can work well under pressure and change while performing with the utmost of integrity. Employment with LifeStorage is contingent on successful completion of a background screening, including criminal, driving and employment history. Employees must have a current driver's license and must be able to travel to various sites within the Chicagoland area.

Education and/or Experience: A High School diploma/GED equivalent and at least one year of related experience in direct sales, retail and/or customer service is required. Leadership skills and experience supervising others is helpful for growth potential. Preference is given to those with college work or degrees.

Language Skills: Candidates must have the ability to write/read/speak in English, complete various reports and correspondences, use a computer, ability to present information to management, clients, customers and the general public. Candidates who are bi-lingual are encouraged to apply.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals is required. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent is necessary. Most mathematical functions are performed in Excel or on a calculator, employees must be able to operate both.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and the ability to deal with problems, new challenges and change is essential.

Physical Demands: The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and to be able to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision. Regular attendance at the assigned location is required.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will generally split time between an office environment and outside work tasks. These outside tasks may need to be performed in either extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
